The Joys of Old Age
The joys of flirting and romance are often stereotyped as something for the young, with older generations unfairly consigned to the idea of being "past it" while they navigate the aches and pains of daily life. This narrow imagery often reduces growing older to merely existing rather than truly living.There is no rule stating getting older means you stop having fun. We are meant to live fully at every stage of life. This cheeky design of a gentleman using his functional aid to be mischievous and flirtatious is exactly what growing old with someone should look like. It playfully highlights how assistive technology can be embraced with humor and personality.
OT Stands For
Professional identity and the promotion of Occupational Therapy within the MDT and beyond is an ongoing battle every OT feels. It’s often said that one of the most difficult parts of the job is simply explaining what it is we do!This design highlights the shared experience of mistaken professional identity, with OTs often being labeled as physios. It isn't intended to put down our physiotherapy colleagues—they are some of our closest allies in patient care—but rather to playfully and lightheartedly highlight who we are, and who we are not.
Doing, Being, Becomming
Doing, Being & Becoming is a core concept of Occupational Therapy. This mug serves as a reminder for students and clinicians of the significance of occupation and its unique place within healthcare in empowering people to overcome challenges to become their best self through engaging in meaningful activities.

"Be a Student, not an Extra Pair of Hands" is a reminder for both students and educators. Placement is a time for active learning, clinical growth, and achieving educational goals—not just filling gaps in staffing. While students should always strive to work hard, the activities they engage in must reflect their learning journey.

This design is a meaningful reminder for all students of their goal to become who they aim to be during their placement. It serves as a gentle nod to practice educators to provide those vital learning opportunities, while demonstrating a student's commitment to the whole learning process.
